This qualification reflects the role of senior managers with advanced operational skills who use a broad range of travel or tourism skills, combined with specialised managerial skills and substantial knowledge of industry operations, to coordinate travel or tourism operations. They operate with significant autonomy and are responsible for making strategic business management and operational decisions.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in many travel and tourism industry sectors and for a diverse range of employers including travel agencies, tour wholesalers, tour operators, inbound tour operators, tourist attractions, visitor information centres, and other tourism businesses.
This Travel and Tourism qualification is designed for:
78 weeks. Full-time, 20 hours per week.
(15 hours per week of class + 5 hours per week online learning)
This course is only offered as full-time and is not offered part-time or by distance education to International students.
At the successful completion of this course the participant will receive an Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management SIT50116. Those students who do not complete this course or who are deemed not yet competent in units will still receive a Statement of Attainment for all units completed.
Attainment of this qualification may enable the participant to fill positions in inbound groups/sales manager, incentives manager, tour operations manager, marketing manager, product development manager, reservations manager, travel agency manager, sales manager or visitor information centre manager.
Pathways for further study:
After achieving this qualification candidates may choose to progress into an Advanced Diploma program with the Business Institute of Australia.
